Succession Planning for the New Century

Date : 22nd October 2013

Presenter: Mario Ferraro

Succession management has become an important talent management initiative in companies around the world. It is a strategic process that minimizes leadership gaps for critical positions and provides opportunities for top talent to develop the skills necessary for future roles. For business growth to be sustainable, it is imperative to ensure a solid pipeline of future leaders. In today's business environment successful leaders need to have a very broad set of competencies that is hard to find and requires significant investments of time and money to develop. As the gap between talent supply and demand widens, today's businesses find it harder to attract and retain high potential executives to be groomed for senior positions.

In this presentation, Mario Ferraro will highlight the strategic importance of succession planning, identify common pitfalls and outline some effective strategies that have been successfully implemented by leading organisations to build a talent pipeline

Date : 13th February  2013

Presenter: Chris George

A Successful business has a number of critical goals. However, one of the most important in today's APAC economic environment is increasing productivity. Unfortunately, it's an activity rarely accepted by HR professionals as a legitimate mandate. Leveraging 14+ years of observation and client consulting we have identified a short list of factors that influence individual/team performance. Synergising Regional and Local HR Policies in APAC: when to standardise and customise

Date : 7th February  2013

Presenter: Hugh McPherson

A common challenge for APAC HR decision makers is accommodating the need for consistency in HR policies and procedures across the region, whilst ensuring that local obligations and customs are met in individual countries. The risk in having universal employment guidelines across a region as diverse as APAC, is that they can miss specific requirements that demonstrate adherence to local laws and an understanding of the working environment. Alternatively, having a company's HR policies customised to every country and/or territory of operation can lead to divergence which makes the establishment of internal standards and practices, and the management of the function as a whole, very difficult.
